Copper Electric, Ohio & Kentucky’s Premium Electrical Contractor, Celebrate 65 Years in Business

It all started 65 years ago, with one employee and a few clients. Now, over six decades later, Cincinnati-based Cooper Electric enjoys a healthy business, with service vans spanning two States.

The company are now seen as one of the country’s top service-based electrical contractors for the residential, commercial and industrial sectors – including their flagship Thermographic inspection service.

They still pride themselves on their core values – quality, value and service. Strict standards are maintained, including the answers on their phones twenty four hours a day, and a requirement for each of their experienced on-site staff to have completed a minimum 4-year apprentice program. So, if your Thermographer requires inspection, you can guarantee it will be attended to promptly.

As the company’s management team explain, the key to their success has been the value they base on every one of their clients:

“Using the highest ethical standards, we promise to provide the best electrical solutions for our customers through QUALITY, VALUE, and SERVICE. We strive to implement a long term relationship with our customers, based on safety, prompt service, and anticipating our customer’s needs. To guarantee our QUALITY, we will continually invest in training and education for our work force, and will never knowingly violate the standards of the National Electrical Code” they say.

The biggest pride-call for Cooper Electric is their client return rate, which currently sits at well over 70%.

“That in itself is a testament to the importance we place on everyone we serve. We’d like to thank everybody for a wonderful first 65 years in business, as we excitedly look forward to 65 more”.

Stanley CCS Completes Security And Fire Installations For Crawley Borough Council

Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (Stanley CSS) has completed the security and fire system installations for Crawley Borough Council’s Town Hall and local Football Stadium.

A comprehensive CCTV system has been installed across both the six storey Town Hall located in the town centre and at Broadfield Stadium, one of the finest non-league stadiums in the country with a capacity of 4,996 and home to Crawley Town Football Club. The CCTV was installed as a crime prevention measure and to ensure the safety of Council staff and visitors to the sites. In addition, Stanley was also awarded the Fire Alarm and Voice Evacuation system contract for the Stadium.

Alan Lagden, Building Services Manager at Crawley Borough Council, researched the CCTV market extensively before deciding on Stanley to undertake the installations: “I chose Stanley because of their reputation. I have received a very good service from them and am impressed by the excellent Stanley engineer who attends our site. We wanted consistency from the outset and that included having the same engineer attend site wherever possible. He is now familiar with us and knows where he is going without us having to spend an hour showing someone around the site with each visit.

“The additional works and upgrades we have had since having the system have been undertaken by Stanley who have kept me fully appraised of all the work being done and carried it out in a professional manner, using high spec equipment. One of the most important things was that the work has not interfered with our daily business”

Stanley CSS understands the value and strength of a local service team backed by global resources, with six office locations in the UK and over 75 locations throughout North America and Europe. Stanley focuses daily on delivering exceptional and consistent operational excellence in the five customer touch points: account management, installation, service, monitoring and billing. The company continually measures its performance against these touch points, identifying areas for improvement and providing clear, precise instructions for reaching each and every goal set.

An integral part of this customer offering includes a variety of finance options, including Stanley’s Flexible Finance package which enabled Crawley Borough Council to move forwards with these latest security and fire installations. This facility provides a low start to the agreement (which also includes all software upgrades and maintenance over the course of the ten year deal) with payments spread throughout its term.

Class Portfolio of Laser Sources at Fabtech 2011

Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR) showcased it’s new kilowatt class portfolio of laser sources at the Fabtech 2011 trade show held last month in Chicago, IL. The company updated its three-pronged kilowatt class strategy addressing the high power materials processing market, which includes laser cutting, welding, cladding and heat treating applications.

The company presented at the show a kilowatt version of its highly reliable, E-Series CO2 lasers called the DIAMOND E-1000. The DIAMOND E-1000 is a compact design that is up to 80% smaller than competitive offerings, requires no consumables and has been shown to cut metals at similar speeds as lasers with twice the power. In addition to saving space, the compact design allows the DIAMOND E-1000 to be mounted on a robot, eliminating the need for fiber delivery systems.

The DIAMOND E-1000 is joined by the Highlight 8000D, a kilowatt class direct-diode system, which was introduced in June 2011 during Laser Munich trade show. The HighLight 8000D features output powers up to 8 kW and is the most powerful, industrial, direct-diode laser system currently available with smart free space beam delivery – providing high power light in the shape and distance required by the application. With systems already deployed in the cladding market, HighLight 8000D enables the largest area at the highest deposition rate currently available.

Completing the three-pronged kilowatt class strategy is Coherent’s HighLight 1000FL fiber laser. This will be the first product in an OEM-focused kW to multi-kW fiber platform. It utilizes Coherent diode bars in a single step pump aggregation without service incompatible splices or gratings – all coupled into a 50 μm fiber delivery. This uniquely, simple architecture is more feedback resistant and is modular in design to enable future serviceability. The HighLight 1000FL is primarily targeted at cutting and welding of metals, such as mild and stainless steels, copper, aluminum, brass, titanium, and aluminum-magnesium.

The three kilowatt class strategy ensures that any material or process can be achieved using either CO2 lasers, direct-diode systems, or fiber lasers – all from Coherent.

Founded in 1966, Coherent, Inc. is a world leader in providing photonics based solutions to the commercial and scientific research markets and part of the Russell 2000. Please direct any questions to Frank Gaebler, Segment Marketing Director at 408-764-4000.
