Long-range wireless power leader Wi-Charge financially backed by the European Innovation Council Fund

TEL AVIV, 18-Oct-2021 — /EPR ELECTRONICS NEWS/ — Wi-Charge, the leader in long-range wireless power, today announced that it has been awarded €13.4 M EUROS by the European Commission’s European Innovation Council (EIC), an arm of the world’s largest multinational innovation programme. The funding is being provided to help Wi-Charge more rapidly develop and commercialize its disruptive “over-the-air” wireless power technology offerings.

According to Wi-Charge’s CEO, Victor Vaisleib, “By financing Wi-Charge, the EIC is fueling Europe’s global competitiveness and helping to make our breakthrough wireless power solutions accessible to as many businesses and homes around the world as possible in the shortest amount of time.”

For generations dating back to Nikola Tesla, technologists have dreamed of making wireless power available through the air, with no need for plugs or charging pads. In recent years, Wi-Charge began making this dream a reality through the development of an infrared technology that beams electricity “over-the-air” to devices over 30 feet away. The company then productised its wireless power offerings and began selling them to businesses around the world. It also quickly established 82 patents in support of its breakthrough.

The EIC fund was created to identify, develop and scale breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations. The programme’s first ever investments were highly anticipated and competitive. This year, of the thousands of companies that competed for the first EIC awards, Wi-Charge was one of the select few to receive financing and the only recipient in the wireless power provider category.

On average, Wi-Charge delivers 30 times the power of other solution providers, at ten times the range and with much less waste — making it the most efficient, greenest solution available today. Year after year, the company has received honors and awards from global organizations like the Consumer Electronics Show and the Edison Awards.

There are currently many wireless power business use cases across the key market sectors Wi-Charge serves, including advanced deployments in large sectors like retail and CPG. These real-world scenarios are fueling a wireless power market that Allied Market Research estimates will reach €34.46 billion EUROS by 2027.

Sesame Smart Lock Accommodates New Technology

Palo Alto, CA, April 21, 2015 — /EPR ELECTRONICS NEWS/ — Sesame – the world’s first instant smart lock – is now one of the hottest projects on Kickstarter, which has raised more than one million dollars since launch. Currently, more than 6,000 supporters have backed the project.

Sesame allows users to lock and unlock their doors using the Sesame app on their smartphones. It is the only smart lock that syncs the movement of the lock with the phone, providing exact control of the angle to which the lock turns.

Jerming Gu, the inventor of Sesame, said he wanted to bring the joy of technology to regular people with affordable prices. Sesame is also designed to accommodate the fast changing nature of technology.

In deed, the consumer electronics technology changes year by year. Any users of consumer electronic products – whether it’s a lock or a phone – they will be forced to upgrade the hardware often.

Here are some examples:
1) iPhone 4 (Bluetooth 3.0) is not compatible with iPhone 4S (Bluetooth 4.0);
2) RFID (clipper bus card) is not compatible with NFC (Apple Pay/some credit card);
3) z-wave (most old digital locks) is not compatible with Zigbee (newer digital locks);

“You might want to have a new phone every year but you may not want to construct the door every year just for a newer digital lock,” said Gu.

That’s the problem Sesame is trying to solve.

Now Bluetooth 4.2 is coming, Gu just swapped to the new version 3 Bluetooth chip in mass production.

“Also, the long-distance wireless charging technology is about to hit the market, I feel everything is changing too fast,” said Gu.

With five-patented design, Sesame works with just about any deadbolt in the world. Users can install it in seconds, without replacing existing lock or removing anything. Current model is optimized for US/Canada/northern Europe Markets.

Stanford Student Entrepreneur Raised $800K on Kickstarter

This particular unit offers the ability to open a pair of gates up to 3.5 metre wide for each leaf using a 24v DC motor. The easy opening and closing of gates ensures maximum usage and they will always be kept closed which gives security within the property and privacy as the front garden can in many cases now become an area which can be used without being

The Came Frog AE-P24 Kit is an underground kit which means that the swinging operating units are fitted into the ground at the outside end of each gate and the gate is mounted on top of the unit. The advantage of this is that the unit is particularly neat and tidy in its appearance or perhaps that should be non-appearance as all the operating mechanism is below ground and a flat top plate to the unit is all that is visible to the outside world. This installation provides the basis for a good reliable set up which will last for years.

Gate operation takes about 16 seconds so that it is slow enough for pedestrians to get out of the way although there is obvious safety cut outs if there is a problem and also release mechanisms if required. The typical opening is 90 degrees but this can be extended to 130 degrees with a suitable adaption of electronics and mechanism. The system is a robust one and the gate mechanisms can support gates up to a weight of 400kg for each leaf of the gate, which allows the installation of some very substantial gates.

The fan is fitted in lime and into the line and extraction is not a problem as it will deal with all the typical problems that bathroom extractor fans may have during their normal operation. It should clear away all steam developed by the shower or the bath and leave the room dry, it will also remove obnoxious smells.

Lamp Post Electrical supply all the fittings and fixtures for the operation and the only real problem is where to fix the extractor fan into its final position as this obviously needs to be outside the bathroom. It can be fitted below the floor or above the ceiling but there will be a need for a suitably sized space and also the requirements in the case of an emergency so that future access may be possible to repair or replace easily. All that then remains is a suitable access for the extracted gases to be passed outside of the building through a tube and grill. If there are no suitable access routes then there are some extractor fans which can work in the bathroom or wash room environment without the need for the ultimate protection but these must be mounted so that they cannot be reached when standing in the bath or shower.
